Green

I love the color green.

The View From Above

I had a really good hair day this day so I was more concerned about capturing that than my outfit….although I also really liked my outfit!

I wore jeans,a long black shirt, my purpley JCrew cable knit cardigan and my trusty flower scarf that goes with everything.

I really love wearing sweaters and scarves:)

Gold

I was so excited for this outfit! I had just gotten the necklace at the District Sample Sale and it worked so perfectly with this cardigan and my new bag (both from Gap).

Kiss Kiss Kiss

This outfit is all about comfort. A Victoria’s Secret sleep tee in the softest cotton imaginable and a striped cardigan. Oh yes!

Scarflet

One of my favorite nicknames I have been given is Scarflet. A lot of people say that when they think of me, they think of scarves and it really is my signature article of clothing. I love them so much. They’re warm when you need them to be, they can add color to an outfit, and they provide some cozy comfort.

Boston Fashion Update

I was in Boston yesterday and having never been there, I was looking forward to seeing the history and the fashion of this great city. Having noticed a trend in Connecticut, I was expecting to see something similar farther north.

The weather was cool, but not cold so heavy coats were not necessary and most people had on either sweatshirts or sweaters. I also noticed a lot of boots. So many boots. For every pair of flats worn in Connecticut, three people must be wearing boots in Boston. Maybe boots are more walkable than flats? Maybe people expected it to be colder? Who knows.

The other trend I noticed was sports jerseys. I know Boston is insane about their sports teams and yes, the Bruins were playing yesterday, but wow, sports jerseys EVERY WHERE!

I had been warned about hipsters and yuppies, but I actually didn’t see many of either. Now, granted, much of our time was spent drinking beer and maybe that is a good explanation for the sports jerseys.

Is anyone from Boston? How would you describe the fashion in the city?

Connecticut Fashion Update

I have noticed a trend in Connecticut:

A lot of girls are wearing ankle-length or rolled up jeans with flats. On top it’s mostly been a long-sleeved top or sweater paired with a go-to scarf. I can totally get behind this look. I feel like in DC it is All About The Boots. In fact, I brought 2 pairs of boots with me and no flats!

I can only guess that this is due to the fact that winter is way more brutal* here than in Virginia so the girls hang on to their autumn looks for longer because they know they will be wearing boots and coats for longer. I’ve been trying to wear fall clothes since September because the season is so fleeting.

Do you have any trends you’re noticing where you are?

*And by brutal, I mean awesome.
